CARPET CLEANER FAQS
-
The best carpet cleaner for you entirely depends on your home, the type of carpets you have and the messes you need to tackle. For powerful deep cleaning with minimal effort, our MAXClean range is a great choice. MAXClean carpet cleaners combine powerful extraction with Motion-Sense Technology, automatically washing as you push forwards and extracting as you pull back. Selected MAXClean models also feature StainShot Mode for tackling stubborn stains and pet messes.
-
Most of our carpet cleaners follow the same procedure, unless they are part of the SmartWash range, where the machine automatically washes when pushed forward and dries when pulling back. The correct amount of water and solution is also dispensed at the same time. Product-specific User Guides are available in the Technical Specification section of each item page. For more information on how to use your VAX Carpet Cleaner effectively, click here for an in-depth guide.
-
Before cleaning a wool carpet, always check the carpet manufacturer’s care instructions and make sure the cleaning solution you plan to use is suitable for wool. Look for the WoolSafe logo where appropriate and always use the product as directed. For more advice, read our guide on how to clean a wool carpet including tips on preparing, cleaning and caring for wool carpets.
-
Whilst some carpets are branded as ‘bleach-friendly’, such chemicals can result in permanent damage and corrosion to the fibres. It is therefore strongly recommended to avoid the need for bleach, if possible, to preserve the condition of your carpet.
-
Carpet cleaners are designed for use on carpets and shouldn’t be used to clean hardwood floors unless your specific machine is designed for multiple floor types. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions before using any cleaning machine or solution on wood flooring. For more guidance, read our guide on how to clean hardwood floors , including tips on removing dirt and caring for your hard floors without causing damage.
-
Yes, but only if the carpet and upholstery machine you have is equipped with the ‘above the floor’ cleaning hose and tools. Your couch’s label should provide direction on maintenance. If there is a 'W' or 'WS' on the label, you can count on a VAX Carpet Cleaning Solution to be best suited for the job. If in doubt, double-check the information with the manufacturer or resort to a colour fastness test in one area of the coach.
-
The floorhead nozzle, together with the brush bars of the machine, can be removed. Refer to the User Guide for detailed instructions on individual products.
