VAX Platinum SmartWash XL Advanced Carpet Cleaner

Brought the VAX SmartWash XL Advanced Carpet Cleaner about 3-4 months ago, at a promotional price. Since then it has been gathering dust, park in the garage. Events of a week ago, when the family cat deposited a live mouse in the kitchen, quickly got bored and left us to deal with it. After removing all furniture and white goods to catch it, it seamed an ideal time to try they cleaner out on a flo-tec carpet, that had never been cleaned before. In seconds of using it, all worries vanished. What an excellent machine to use, leaving the carpet dry and clean. The colour of the dirty water was disgusting. Refilling the clean and dirty water tanks was simple. The electric cable needs a more robust hook to attach it to the handle to keep it out of the machines path. Also 2 extraa lugs on the back of the machine to wind the cable around would be welcome. But other than that an excellent machne.

Had for over 6 months now . Carpet cleaner still working well. You realise the level of dirt in your carpets and rugs once you see the waste water.! It does need cleaning after each use to clear all the fibres and solid matter etc otherwise it will dry and impair future use. But its fairly straightforward along with the self clean function.

I have been delighted with our purchase. We started with a very heavily stained carpet and the cleaner removed most of the marks. A second cleaning should finish the job. All of our carpets have been cleaned now and look much better, some look like new. Very impressed.
